Ron passed away peacefully with friends and family by his side on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024 in Gulf Shores, Alabama at the age of 70.
Ron was born in St. Cloud, MN on New Years Day, 1954, with a noise maker in one hand and a bottle of champagne in the other. Ron, the son of Willard and Mary Ann (Kellner) Dietman, grew up in Cold Spring, MN and graduated from ROCORI High School in 1972. After high school he joined the Navy where he was stationed on the USS Okinawa. Ron was proud to be able to say he served his country as a Vietnam Veteran. Ron would later make his home in Pearl Lake, MN with his wife Kate, where they raised their three sons. From here he began to turn his passion of art into a business. From wood burning on mushrooms to etching large monuments, he could do it all. He would later go on to found AHE Granite along with his sons.
Ron had a love for everything outdoors and possessed the unique ability to see the beauty and create art out of just about anything. He especially enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, and trapping with his sons and later his grandchildren as well. His love of art later brought him to the North Shore near Two Harbors, MN, where he would spend his summers creating and selling his art. When the winter came, he would make his way down to Fort Morgan, Alabama where he enjoyed much of the same. Painting, fishing, hunting for driftwood, and generally just enjoying life. No matter where he was, Ron always made an impression and was rarely seen without one of his beloved dogs. Ron made many lifelong friends along the way.
He is survived by his three sons Brian (Holly), Randy (Jennifer), and Trevor (Chilsea); his seven grandchildren Ryder, Keira, Lily, Bryson, Hudson, Walter, and Harrison; his siblings Steve (Peg), Judy (Chuck) Fuchs, Chris (Joe) Hagemeier, Patty Dietman, and Lynn (Roark) Haver; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
