Kathleen Bertha (Hauwiller) Flicek of Cold Spring, MN passed away unexpectedly in her home on March 3, 2020.
Kathleen was the beloved wife of Robert (Bob) Flicek with whom she shared more than 51 years of marriage. Kathleen was born in St. Paul, MN to Alex and Florentine (Vanderlinde) Hauwiller. She is survived by her husband, Bob; her son, Paul Flicek, daughters Katie (Bob) Coulson, Elizabeth Flicek; sisters, Joanne (Larry) Leach, Mary (Bill) Schrobilgen, Monica Gabrielson, brothers, Charles (Cindy) Hauwiller, John (Sharon) Hauwiller, and three grandchildren, Taryn Coulson, William Flicek, and Thomas Flicek. In addition to her parents, Kathleen is preceded in death by her brother Gerald Hauwiller.
Kathleen graduated from Monroe High School in St. Paul. From there, she attended St. Mary’s in Minneapolis where she graduated as a registered nurse. She made four lifelong friends who frequently got together over the 50 years since they graduated. Kathleen always wanted to be a nurse and worked at Midway Hospital in St. Paul where she cared for the most critical patients.
During retirement, Kathleen and Bob spent over 12 years in Estero, Florida in the winters and on Horseshoe Lake in Central Minnesota during the summers. She enjoyed painting, quilting, cooking, and reading. Bob and Kathleen traveled frequently, enjoying many cruises and road trips. They traveled to over 45 countries.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date with information to follow in the coming months.
