Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Dolores H. Schwegel age 89, who was reunited with her husband, Ted on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.  Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring.  Visitation will continue 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the Church Narthex.

Dolores was born the youngest of ten to Math and Katherine (Kinzer) Theisen.  She attended a country school in Wakefeld Township.  Dolores worked as a cook and dining attendant at St. Benedicts in St. Joseph, MN before marrying Ted Schwegel on May 13, 1952 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Cold Spring.   She loved to share how she met Ted and how she knew right away they were meant for each other.  Dolores devoted her entire life to her husband and family.  Her love for her family and strong faith provided the strength she needed to care for her husband in his later years.  March 14, 2010 Dolores lost her best friend, Ted of almost 58 years.  She loved to embroider, garden, bake, and do seasonal canning.  She enjoyed working at Hardee’s in Cold Spring.  Her loving demeanor and smile will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, Dianne (Charlie) Ledbetter of Little Falls, Rose (Steve) Underhill of Bloomington, Doris (Roger) Lodermeier of Sartell, Peter (Nancy) Schwegel of St. Cloud and Deb (Jim) Rasmusson of St. Augusta; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Sylvester (Vera) Theisen; in-laws, Bernice Schwegel, Loretta Feldhaus and Inez Theisen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; parents; and 8 siblings.
