Roger R. Buttton, age 93

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Church of God in Eden Valley for Roger R. Button, age 93, who died Saturday at Mother of Mercy in Albany.   A gathering of friends and relatives will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Roger was born on October 5, 1925 in Burnstad, ND to Eddie and Beda (Berquist) Button.  He attended Burnstad Schools and was a baptized member of the Church of Christ and Church of God at various locations.  Roger was married to Dinah Button for 68 years until Dinah’s death on April 19, 2015.  He was employed during and after his high school years as an agent, telegrapher, train dispatcher and trainmaster of the M & S & L and C & NW Railroad from 1944 thru 1986, when he retired.  Roger and Dinah lived in various locations in several different states.  He was a member of several Retired Railroad Organizations and the Eagles of St. Cloud.

Survivors include his children, Kevin (Elizabeth) Button, Jill (Harry) Gertken; 6 grandchildren, Brad, Jeff, Michelle, Eleasha, Christina, Andrew and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dinah; son, Craig; daughter, Becky; sisters, Ellen Rowley, Bea Dollar; and brother, Edgar.

Arrangements are with the Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond.
