Arthur Klaphake, age 82

October 9, 1934 – February 2, 2017

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Arthur Klaphake, age 82, who died Thursday at the Paynesville Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Entombment will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.  Visitation will continue Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at St. Boniface Narthex.  Arrangements are with Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.

Arthur was born in Melrose, MN to Lawrence and Clara (Kollman) Klaphake.  He married Laura Kalthoff on September 2, 1959 in St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Farming, MN.  Arthur was a farmer all of his life.  He loved playing cards and polka dancing.  Arthur had a strong love for his family.
 
Survivors include his wife, Laura; children, Joyce (Jim) Torborg, Vernon (Geraldine), Linda (Tom) Geers, Doris (Dave Wysoski) Illies, Dale (Donna), Keith (Janice), Bryan (Deanna); brother, Donald (Marlene); 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Maryann Maus.
