Rosemary Kaufman, age 89

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Rosemary Kaufman age 89, who died peacefully in her sleep Monday evening, October 23 at Lilydale Senior Living. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Parish Cemetery in Watkins.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Visitation will continue from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Monday afternoon at the funeral home.
Rosemary was born in Watkins, MN to William and Alma (Steman) Gross. She married Earl Kaufman on June 5, 1948 in St. Anthony Church, Watkins, MN. Rosemary was a homemaker for her family of 8 children and later a daycare provider for 25 years. She received much pleasure in helping others. Earl and Rosie were chairpersons of the St. Boniface 100 year Centennial Celebration in 1978 when the annual festival parade was started. After retirement, along with her husband, they volunteered driving for Tri-Cap. For 54 years, gladiolas donated by the Kaufman family were placed at the Grasshopper Chapel in Cold Spring for the Feast of the Assumption Mass. Rosemary enjoyed children, gardening, baking, cooking, traveling and casinos. She was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Christian Women, VFW and Catholic United Financial. She was also a charter member of the Resurrection Choir at St. Boniface and the Cold Spring Historical Society.
Survivors include her children, Marylee (George) Korman-Smith, Sharon (Mike) Ahern, +William (Mary Jean) Kaufman, Susan (Rich) Utecht, Marty (Ruth) Kaufman, Lori (Joe) Konz, Tracy (Bryan) Voit and Leah (Don Papa) Kaufman; siblings, Rev. Richard C. Gross, Alice Krebsbach, Ronald Gross; 24 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; son, William; siblings, Betty Pfannenstein and Harold Gross.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
