Jeff and Casey purchased the business in 2016, and Jamie, who retired from law enforcement in 2021, joined the ownership team in 2024.

Today, Channel Marine & Sports is a one-stop shop for boating enthusiasts, offering everything from boat and pontoon sales to service, parts, docks, lifts, winterization, and storage. They also offer bait and tackle, trolling motor repairs specializing in Minn Kota, and both indoor and outdoor storage options.

One impressive highlight from our visit was learning that Channel Marine is the largest Hewitt dock and lift dealer in Minnesota and ranks among the top dealers nationwide! While boat sales have shifted since COVID, dock and lift sales have continued to be a major part of their business.

Their location is another unique advantage! With two properties totaling approximately eight acres and direct access to the Horseshoe Chain of Lakes, Channel Marine can assist customers right from the water. Their specialized barge allows them to install and remove docks and lifts, and they even help customers with pontoons that don’t have trailers. With lower water levels this season, their team has already been busy pulling boats and pontoons from the water.

Beyond boating, Channel Marine also offers winter cabin watch services, helping seasonal property owners keep an eye on their properties during the colder months.

With a dedicated team of 12 employees, Channel Marine continues to be an important part of the Richmond community. Their involvement extends well beyond the business, including support for Catfish Fest, local fishing tournaments, fishing teams, and participation in the Minneapolis Boat Show.

It’s always great to see a locally owned business with such deep roots continue to grow, adapt, and invest in the community it serves.

Thank you to Jeff, Casey, Jamie, and the entire Channel Marine & Sports team for welcoming our Chamber Ambassadors and sharing your story with us! We appreciate your continued investment in our local business community and everything you do to support our area’s boating and fishing traditions!

Pictured (Left to Right): Shannon Sorum, Jamie Revermann, Casey Hopfer, Jeff Miller, Nicole Holthaus, and Amy Statz.

The Cold Spring Area Chamber Ambassadors recently had the opportunity to visit Channel Marine & Sports, Inc. in Richmond to learn more about this longtime local business and the team behind its continued success!
