Geoffrey Stanley Sharples, age 80, of Cold Spring, Minnesota, passed away at his home on August 31, 2026.<\/p>\n
Geoff was born on June 19, 1946, in St. Helens, England, to Thomas and Margaret Sharples. He served in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968, including three tours in Vietnam.<\/p>\n
Geoff had a way of making everyone he met feel like an old friend. Generous with his time and talents, he never hesitated to go out of his way to help someone. He enjoyed spending time in his garage, where he restored cars, Airstream campers, and motorcycles. He also enjoyed collecting antiques and pedal cars. Gifted with his hands, Geoff could fix or make just about anything. He loved watching Jeopardy! and spending time with his seven grandchildren.<\/p>\n
Geoff is survived by his wife of 32 years, Virginia; children, Melanie (John) Willy, Bryan Larson, Rebecca (Lance) Staus, Scott (Kim) Kaser, Jim Kaser, and Wess Kaser; and seven grandchildren.<\/p>\n
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Sharples, and his brothers, Dennis and Collin Sharples.<\/p>\n
Geoff will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with full honors October 20, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow, details to come.<\/p>\n
