He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, with postings in Guam and Fairbanks, Alaska\u2014experiences that left a lasting impression and shaped his appreciation for service, learning, and community.<\/p>\n<p>Afterwards, Ken taught shop in Stillwater, Minnesota, and at Saint Cloud State University, later continuing to teach as a substitute in mathematics and science in Saint Cloud, while also exploring careers in electronics and sales. However, his lifelong passion remained serving and contributing to his community.<\/p>\n<p>A founding member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cold Spring, Ken was devoted to his faith and to the people around him. He was a skilled craftsman who built the family home, remodeled their lake cabin, and enjoyed woodworking and hands-on projects. Even later in life, he maintained a healthy appetite for learning, always curious and eager to understand the world around him.<\/p>\n<p>Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Raschke. He is survived by his sister Connie Garrison, his son Ed Raschke, and his daughter Kaylynn Raschke.<\/p>\n<p>A service celebrating Ken\u2019s life will be held Thursday, December 4 at Peace Lutheran Church, 1000 Red River Ave, Cold Spring, MN 56320. Visitation 10am, Service at 11, light luncheon at 12. Memorials are preferred to Peace Lutheran Church, Cold Spring, or to a local community cause of your choice.<\/p>\n<p>Ken\u2019s life reflected kindness, humility, craftsmanship, curiosity, and a lasting dedication to community.
