A little over a week ago, there was another senseless shooting that took the life of a political activist, Charlie Kirk. The shooter was caught because people he loved convinced him to turn himself in to the police. He used his grandfather\u2019s rifle to commit the murder.<\/p>\n
Naturally, gun control advocates are jumping all over this as a reason to advance their agenda, but shouldn\u2019t mental illness be a topic of discussion? When did shooting and killing people become the answer to someone\u2019s anger? When I was growing up, the answer to some people\u2019s anger was to have a discussion that might have turned into some pushing and shoving, but it didn\u2019t go as far as to have someone draw a weapon, much less use a weapon.<\/p>\n
All our \u201cprofessionals\u201d need to get their heads together and figure out when our society took such an ugly turn. Then, they need to work on correcting what went wrong. I believe it needs to start with families and friends noticing issues and addressing them before things get out of hand, instead of simply dismissing them.<\/p>\n
I believe it might be very difficult to find out that a family member or friend would even think about shooting someone, let alone go out and do it. I can\u2019t imagine the surprise and shock of those who know someone who committed a shooting that killed or injured other people.<\/p>\n
From what I understand, the person who is accused of shooting and killing Charlie Kirk was advised to turn himself in to the police by people he knew, and authorities collected text messages between the shooter and his roommate that are evidence against the shooter.<\/p>\n
This might be far-fetched, but it\u2019s starting to seem that there isn\u2019t anywhere we can feel completely safe. Sadly, we have to distrust people we don\u2019t know well, because none of us know what\u2019s going on in people\u2019s heads.<\/p>\n

Here we are, at the end of September \u2013 already! Your trees should start to turn colors soon, and I\u2019m sure the heat of summer is in the past. Here in Florida, it\u2019s still in the high 80s and low 90s during the day, and down to the 70s at night. We don\u2019t get the opportunity to witness many different tree colors here; it\u2019s mostly green all the time, and I sure miss the colors Mother Nature sends your way in the Fall.
