Have you ever noticed a problem remembering things? I know my memory was much better when I was younger than now. As I approach 70 (in a couple years) I\u2019ve noticed difficulty remembering things. There was a time I could recall phone numbers by memory \u2013 at least a couple dozen of them. I don\u2019t attribute my current inability to recall phone numbers so much to my age as I do to the fact that our current day phones remember the numbers for us; all we have to do is go to our contact list or text messages to find phone numbers \u2013 even then we don\u2019t need to \u201cdial\u201d the numbers because the phone only needs us to touch the call button.<\/p>\n
I admit that after retirement, I have a little trouble remembering what day it is unless it\u2019s a golf day and I have a tee time.<\/p>\n
Maybe I have a lot more medical-related appointments now, but I find that if there isn\u2019t a reminder sent, I\u2019m not going to remember the appointment.<\/p>\n
I admit I have always had difficulty remembering names \u2013 until I\u2019ve met someone a few times, I find I struggle with recalling their name.<\/p>\n
If you tell me an address, you better let me write it down, because I\u2019m likely to forget it.<\/p>\n
Have you ever thought of something you need, get up from where you\u2019re sitting, walk into the room you need to be in for the item you need, only to stand there wondering what in the world you needed from that room? I think it\u2019s probably happened to almost all of us and the only solution I\u2019ve found is to go back to where I was when I thought about what I needed and try to recall what I was thinking about when I thought about needing something \u2013 even that doesn\u2019t work all the time, but I figure if I can\u2019t get my mind to remember what I needed it must not have been that important and I\u2019ll think of it another time.<\/p>\n
As I get older, it gets harder and harder to remember things. I\u2019ve found it necessary to make lists \u2013 a lot of that happens in the notes section of my phone.<\/p>\n
There are a lot of reasons our phones are important to us, and remembering things has become another one for me.<\/p>\n
