Across the country, libraries remind their communities about the benefits of owning and using a library card. We thought this was a perfect time to announce the winners of Great River Regional Library\u2019s 2024 Library Card Design Contest!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In June, Great River Regional Library (GRRL) welcomed artists of all ages to submit designs for new library cards. Anyone living in GRRL\u2019s service area could participate by illustrating our next library card. The artwork was judged based on creativity, design, and how well it communicates the message, \u201cWhy do you love your library?\u201d We had an astonishing response in participation, with 561 submissions from 452 kids, 64 teens, and 45 adults from across the GRRL region. Thank you to everyone who participated in the contest! It was challenging to decide on just one design for each category.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><em><strong>Congratulations to our Library Card Design Contest Winners! Each category\u2019s winner is:<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Kids (ages 0-12): Joshua, whose home library is in St. Cloud<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Teen (ages 13-19): Emily, whose home library is in St. Michael<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Adult (ages 20+): Abigail, whose home library is in Buffalo<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Your free library card gives you access to books, movies, music, magazines, kits, WiFi hotspots, online databases, community events, and more! Now, your library card can also feature a local artist\u2019s design. For those who sign up for a library card or have an expired card, you may select a new design card upon sign-up. Current library cardholders can upgrade their library card for $1 to choose a design (that comes with a new barcode). The design cards are available starting September 2nd in your local library! (While supplies last.)<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Did you know that your library card expires every three years? Make sure you return to your library to update your card and see what is new in your local library, regain access to resources, and support a local artist by getting or renewing your library card during September Library Card Sign-Up Month!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Questions?
