Richard grew up on a small family farm, where he learned the values of hard work and dedication from his parents. He was a devoted husband and father. A self-taught carpenter, Richard and Suzetta built three homes in the Cold Spring community. He valued the relationships he made during his 43 years working at Cold Spring Granite (Coldspring). He loved to visit with anyone he encountered.
Richard enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing games with his grandchildren, traveling, woodworking, reading, and completing many projects around the house. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, an avid donor to the American Red Cross, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and served as a member of the Assumption Community Board.
He is survived by his children, Duane (Jessica), Deborah (Mathew) Rothstein, Deanna (Patrick) McDonald, and Dean (Kristen); grandchildren, Sydney, Brock, and Brynn Rothstein; Liam and Aurora McDonald; Logan, Zoey, Austin, and Hudson Krueger; siblings, Eileen Hansen and Sylvester Krueger; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Krueger.
