Randy Johannes, age 66, of Cold Spring, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, at Quiet Oaks Hospice House, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
Born and raised with strong family values, Randy was known for his outgoing nature, hardworking attitude, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Randy found joy in spending time with family and friends, creating memories with those closest to him through deer hunting, mentoring youth turkey hunters, snowmobiling, and spending time in the woods at his favorite place; his cabin. He will be remembered for his joking spirit, strong will, and the genuine care he showed to others.
Above all, Randy cherished his family. His love, guidance, and support will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. While he will be deeply missed, his legacy of joyfulness, strength, tenacity and passion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
Randy is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Vi, and daughters Nicole (Brandt) Hansen, and Lauren Johannes (Grady Fuchs); his siblings, Jack (Bess) Johannes, Karen Evans, Kathy (Jim) Bell, Mark (Irma) Johannes; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewald and Leona Johannes; and his siblings Ronald Johannes, Mary Ellen Larson, Roger Johannes, and Tom Johannes.
A visitation will be held at Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2026, at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, with inurnment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the family, friends, neighbors, and caregivers who provided comfort and support during Randy’s final journey.
Randy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
