A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring for Leona M. Lardy, who died Thursday at her home. Inurnment will be in the St. James Cemetery, Jacobs Prairie MN.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Leona was born in Pearl Lake, MN to Roman and Martha (Molitor) Hansen. She worked on the farm, in a chicken barn and raised her family. Leona loved search and word, books, playing bingo and euchre (but couldn’t win against her son Dennis), cooking, barn dances and polka music. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Leona is survived by her children, Darlene, Doreen, Donna, Doris, Dennis (Jennifer), Duane, Darwin (Carla), Doug, Dale; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Donald, David; great grandson, Dakota and brother-in-law, Dennis Schyma.
Arrangements are with the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring, MN.
