Edward (Ed) Frank Koska passed away after a long illness on August 19, 2026.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Nisswa. Family and friends are invited to gather for one hour prior to Mass at the Church. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery also in Nisswa.
Ed was born April 10, 1938, he grew up on a farm near Elrosa, MN. He married Judith Merdan on July 11, 1964, and lived near Cold Spring, MN where he was active in a band from 1953 to 1978. Then he got involved with the revitalization of the Sauk River chain of lakes. In 1992 they relocated to the Brainerd lakes area where he worked at Cragun’s Resort and then Causeway on Gull until he retired. Ed loved to fish, play his guitar and was active in the community by participating with meals on wheels, St. Vincent De Paul; a charitable organization and the Adoration Chapel at St. Alice in Pequot Lakes.
Ed will be dearly missed by his many friends and family. Ed is survived by his son, Don and wife Annette; granddaughter, Sofie; his son-in-law, Mike Bolei; and grandsons, Jesse and Jake. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Koska; his daughter, Linda Bolei; sister, Mary Koska; brothers, Richard, Victor (Buddy) and Lawrence (Larry) Koska.
