ROCHESTER, MN — The ROCORI Winter Drumline delivered a powerhouse performance on Saturday, April 11th, at the Mayo Civic Center, claiming a second-place finish at the Minnesota Percussion Association (MPA) State Finals.
Competing with their captivating 2026 production, “Wake Up,” the ensemble narrowly missed a third consecutive state title in a performance that electrified the crowd by showcasing the joy and skill that the ROCORI program is known for. While they came up just a point shy of the top spot, the silver medal cements their status as one of the premier percussion units in the region.
This event marked a poignant milestone for four dedicated seniors: Alex McDonald, Konnor Deiss, Emily Christensen, and Moriah Ruffi. These student-athletes leave behind a remarkable legacy that few can match. Over their four-year careers, they have led the drumline to:
• Two State Championships (1st Place): 2024 & 2025
• Two State Runner-Up Titles (2nd Place): 2023 & 2026
To maintain that level of consistency over four years is an incredible achievement. As these seniors hang up their cymbals, mallets and sticks, they leave the ROCORI program with a resume defined by excellence and a silver finish that shines just as bright as gold.
Congratulations to the entire ROCORI Winter Drumline on a spectacular season!
