If my memory serves me correctly, this is the first time the team I was rooting for won. The Seattle Seahawks dominated the biggest, most popular football game of the year.
Why did I want Seattle to win? Because their quarterback led our Vikings to a 14-win season just one year ago, and he was let go, and replaced by what the team tells us is our quarterback of the future.
Fans were indeed left disappointed by Sam Darnold’s performance in the last two games of last year’s season, but I wished then that he would be given another chance. I profess that I am not anywhere near educated enough when it comes to professional football, but it seemed to me that the team had a good opportunity to build a better offense around the man who led Seattle to a Super Bowl win. Instead, all of us Vikings fans are left watching a team trying to “build” a team that can compete with the best in the NFL.
I recall the hype around another quarterback, Kirk Cousins, being the team’s answer to getting into the final game of the year – and fans waited, and waited, and waited, and never got close to watching their team play in that big game. When the Vikings let go of Darnold, I wondered why they made that decision so quickly, but took so long for Cousins.
As I said earlier, I’m not educated enough to qualify as the guy making these decisions, so I’ll just keep watching and waiting.

I will openly admit that I was completely disgusted with this year’s halftime show, especially since I couldn’t understand a word in the songs until I heard three words from the headliner – “God bless America” were the only recognizable words during the approximately 20-minute show.
It seems to me that the money and time spent on what’s needed for those 20 minutes could be used on more important things — but then, what do I know.
Have A Good Week!
