The Cold Spring Economic Development Authority visited Gentler Thymes on September 8th. Owner Ellen Krippner gave us a tour and shared a wonderful story of the rich history behind the building.
This historic, classic Victorian house was built in 1891 for Mary and Marcus Maurin for their home. The well-maintained house still has the original woodwork and design, which complements the charm of the retail store on the main level, where Ellen sells antiques and collections. The upper level is home to a fashion store that includes everything from casual to formal wear and accessories, including wedding dresses.
Ellen has two volunteer helpers who share her passion for this fun store, Dolores Maile and Grace Martagon. The EDA enjoyed this informative and entertaining visit with Gentler Thymes!
