On Saturday, August 9th & Sunday, August 10th Saint Boniface celebrated their annual “BoniFest.” The weather was perfect and was the kind of weekend that reminded everyone why this small-town celebration means so much.
Saturday began with a Polka Mass, music was by the Jolly Ramblers. After Mass, they kept toes tapping with old-time favorites. By evening, the stage belonged to The Fabulous Armadillos until 11 p.m., pausing for a spectacular fireworks show.
On Sunday the parade was brimming with energy and community spirit. The Centered on Christ Catholic Community Youth (four parishes of St. James, Mary the Immaculate Conception, Sts. Peter & Paul and St. Boniface) gathered food for the pantry, thank you for blessing those in need with your generosity!
The bean bag tournament sparked plenty of friendly rivalry, while a lively mix of music from the BLT Band filled the air. The Quilt Auction brought cheers and generous giving from the heart. Shopping at Grandma’s Pantry for produce, baked goods and handiwork along with playing the cake walk was fun for all. The mouthwatering scent of burgers, tacos, fries, chicken and pie and more drifted through the grounds. Children’s laughter from the games and free inflatables added pure joy to the day.
Behind it all was an army of volunteers, setting up, cooking, serving, cleaning, and working tirelessly in big and small ways. Special thanks to the General Chairs, whose leadership and love for Saint Boniface shone through every detail.
Thank you to all that attended this great community event and shared so generously in support of our annual fundraiser!
