The Cold Spring Area Maennerchor officially kicked off their 2025 Oktoberfest celebration with a lively and beautifully decorated float in this year’s River Lakes Days Parade. The Maennerchor float proudly displayed festive Bavarian flair with blue-and-white banners, bright flower arrangements, and yellow, white, and blue balloons dancing in the summer breeze.
Wearing traditional German attire—lederhosen and dirndls—members of the chorus raised steins high, waved joyfully to the crowd, and even offered a few hearty renditions of “Ein Prosit” and other German favorites along the route. The float was adorned with a large Oktoberfest banner announcing this year’s main event, which takes place Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the River Lakes Civic Arena in Richmond.
The parade appearance served as the official launch of the upcoming celebration, which promises live music, dancing, contests, German food and drink, and performances by the Maennerchor. It also reinforced the group’s ongoing mission to keep their 88-year choral tradition alive through community involvement and cultural celebration.
With cheerful energy and strong community spirit, the Maennerchor float was a standout, offering a festive sneak peek at what’s to come this fall. For more information, visit csmenschorus.com. Prost!
