Richard (Rick) Lee Kinzer was born November 6, 1945 in Watkins, Minnesota and passed away on May 6, 2025 at the age of 79 in Fort Worth, Texas surrounded by family.
Richard grew up on a farm in Watkins, Minnesota. He graduated high school from St. Boniface in Cold Spring, Minnesota, and obtained a degree in psychology/sociology at St. John’s University in 1967. Rick and Kathy were wed in 1980 and later had a ceremony at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
He served as President of the St. Cloud Jaycees in 1975, President of the St. Cloud Thursday Morning Rotary in 1984, and Secretary of the St. Cloud Granite Rotary Club from 1996 to 1997.
His dedication to service extended beyond formal roles as he was a volunteer speaker for speech classes at Tech High School and delivered for Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling.
Richard is survived by his wife, Kathy, his sons, Kip (Shelly) Kinzer and Victor (Ashley) Kinzer, his grandchildren Blake, Eliana and Elanor and his siblings Jack, Don, Audrey, Dan, Mary Sue, Meg, Rose, Kathy, Chuck, and JoAnn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Kinzer, his sisters, Diane and Mary Kay, and his brothers, Larry, Daniel, Charles, Patrick, and Victor.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16th, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, Minnesota, with visitation to follow at 12:00 p.m.
