This spring, the ROCORI High School is turning up the volume and lighting up the stage with its lively production of Footloose: The Musical! Join us to kick off your Sunday shoes and join the fun as the timeless story of rebellion, rhythm, and redemption comes to life in a toe-tapping, heart-thumping extravaganza.
While the show features a cast of beloved characters, two performers are set to steal the spotlight—Chuck Cranston and Willard Hewitt.
Chuck, played by Jack Skanson, the tough-talking bad boy with a mean streak and a motorcycle to match, brings an electric edge to the show. Chuck is more than just a villain—he’s a symbol of the small-town tension that fuels the plot.
In perfect contrast is Willard, played by Andrew Hansen, the lovable, slow-talking country boy with two left feet and a heart of gold. Whether he’s fumbling through dance lessons or defending his best friend, Willard reminds us all that true strength lies in loyalty and kindness.
The emotional heart of Footloose also lies in its adults, with the characters of Reverend Shaw Moore, his wife Vi, and Ren’s mother Ethel. Reverend Shaw wrestles with grief and control as he clings to tradition to protect his community. Opposite him is Vi, played with quiet strength whose wisdom and compassion serve as a guiding light. And Ethel McCormack brings a steady, grounding presence as she supports her son Ren through the town’s challenges. Together, these characters highlight the generational divide—and the healing power of understanding and change.
