Julie Thresia (Blonigen) Hastings, 78, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 2, 1946, in Cold Spring, Minnesota, Julie was the daughter of Peter and Rose (Kron) Blonigen.
In 1967, Julie moved to Colorado, where she met the love of her life, Dan. Together, they welcomed two beautiful children into the world, daughter Erin and son Sean. Embracing the majesty of the Rocky Mountains they built a home on a parcel of land outside of Golden, CO. They created a wonderful life that was filled with cherished memories and strong bonds with family and friends. Julie was deeply rooted in the warmth of those she loved, and her family was always her greatest joy.
Julie worked for many years at Texaco, but it was her role as a grandmother that brought her the most happiness. She was incredibly proud of her grandchildren, Owen and Holly, her heart swelled with love as she watched them grow and flourish. Their time together was filled with special moments that will forever be treasured.
One of Julie’s most beloved traditions was returning each year to the family farm in Minnesota. There, she reunited with her seven brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. These trips, full of laughter, love and unforgettable moments were an integral part of her life which she held dear to her heart.
Julie is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Daniel Hastings; her daughter Erin (Luke), her son Sean, and her grandchildren Owen and Holly. She is also survived by her sisters, Laura (Richard), Dorthy (Jim), Pauline and Clara (Warner); her brothers, Marcus, John and Roman (Arlene) and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Condolences may be sent to her family at 30236 Spruce Canyon Dr. Golden, CO 80403.
Julie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her kindness, warmth, and joyful spirit will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her absence will be deeply felt by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in their hearts forever.
