Home Pride Lion Sherri Schmitz along with Sauk Rapids Riverside Lion Jordan Haukos are on the Board of Directors for the MN Lions Vision Foundation (MLVF). The Foundation’s projects include: Lions Gift of Sight (formerly the Eye Bank), MN Lion’s Children’s Eye Clinic, Ophthalmology Research, MN Lions Macular Degeneration Research and Rehabilitation Center and the MN Lions Eye Surgery Center. We are available to talk with groups to tell them about the great things happening with the MLVF. We will be having two events this fall on October 25-26th. The EYE Ball includes hors d’oeuvres, a band with dancing, wine pull (buy a wine cork, pick a bottle of wine) and a fun night getting together with others that are passionate about improving research and treatment for those with vision issues. Our other event is “Thanksgiving for Vision” which is an update from the physicians at some of the clinics that we support as well as to hear from people that have had a cornea transplant and a family that has a member that donated their corneas. This event includes a Silent Auction fund raiser.
The EYE Ball is open to all – Lions Sherri and Jordan are selling tickets. The Thanksgiving for Vision is by invitation only. We are also accepting donations of wine and gift baskets. In the Cold Spring area you can contact Lion Sherri at 320-293-8672.
