The ROCORI High School Band Solo/Ensemble contest was held on Wednesday, February 21st at Monticello High School. Twenty-three instrumental groups involving 33 students were judged on their performances. The students were judged on Tone Quality, Rhythm, Technique, Intonation, Musicianship and Overall Performance. Of those performances, 17 received the top rating of “Superior” and six received the next highest rating of “Excellent”. William Sauers (Sr. trumpet) and Alex McDonald (Soph. bassoon) each scored a perfect 40 on their individual solos. Alex also received “Best at Site” for his performance. The students are taught under the direction of their band teacher Mr. Tony Hutar and accompanied by Mrs. Julene Faber-Andrusick. It was a great day!
