Many people knew Dale Schurman from his business, the Cold Spring Bakery. He was even delivered to the hospital in a yeast truck, so baking was in his blood.
Dale had many hobbies: marching band, flying, riding motorcycles, doing puzzles, camping and traveling. Dale met Lynn (Loehlein) on a band trip when he was a chaperone, and she was in the color guard.
After attending Dunwoody in 1971, Dale returned home and began baking. Several years later Lynn joined him as decorator and manager of the Cold Spring Bakery. The Cold Spring Bakery celebrated 80 years of doing business in August.
Dale is survived by his wife, Lynn; children, Douglas (deceased) married Pamela (Svec) Schurman Mattson, children: Wyatt, Emma and Owen. Andria “the Favorite Daughter” married Steve Zaborowski, children: Ivy, Thaddeus. Mark married Maria Stephanie Garcia Hernandez, children: Erika, Milli, Shawne. He is also survived by his sisters, Char and Carol; brother Brian and many nieces and nephews.
Services are with the Wenner Funeral Home, Cold Spring, MN.
