Bruce Peter Eisenschenk, 65, of Cold Spring, MN passed away in Austin, Texas on May 24, 2026. Born on June 9, 1960, Bruce lived a life defined by service, dedication, and deep love for his family and country.
Bruce proudly served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring with the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. His commitment to protecting and serving others continued beyond his military career. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security from Saint Leo University and went on to spend another 20 years working in the defense private sector as an analytics consultant.
Though Bruce accomplished much professionally, those who knew him best will remember him most for the kind of person he was. He was a “big teddy bear” with a welcoming spirit, someone who could strike up a conversation with anyone and genuinely cared about the people around him. Bruce was hospitable, chatty, and deeply interested in others’ lives and stories. Family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father James and is lovingly survived by his wife, Gabby; daughter Nicole; son Gavin and daughter-in-law Carly; and grandson Archer. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Eisenschenk; brothers Phil Eisenschenk and Doug Eisenschenk (wife Kim); sisters Gail Buermann (husband Roger), Linda Eisenschenk (husband Ed Balog), and Deb Loeffler (husband Lynn); along with many beloved nieces and nephews: Sasha, Shelby, Nick, Grant, Elizabeth, Katie, Mason, and Amber.
Bruce’s love for his country, his fellow Marines, and his family will be remembered always. His warmth, humor, and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
