
Thomas “Tom” W. Miller passed away on March 27, 2026 peacefully with his family by his side. He was born on August 7, 1951 to Sylvester and Shirley (Lang) Miller in Richmond, MN.
He was involved with Boy Scouts for many years achieving Eagle Scout status.
Tom graduated from ROCORI High School in Cold Spring, MN in 1969 and in 1970 he enlisted in the MN National Guard and served for 6 years.
He then worked at Cold Spring Granite Company for 42 years, starting as a welder, then supervisor in layout, retiring as a salesperson in the Pacific Northwest, where we moved to in 1997.
Tom married Barb Schloeder on September 16, 1972 and they had 2 children Shannon and Josh (Mary Ann); four grandchildren Ethan, Trevor (Rylee), Kaitlyn and Kyle. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and brothers John, Dave, Ron and Jim. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Donna.
Tom loved fishing, hunting, golfing, camping and spending time with his kids and grandkids – teaching them and cheering them on at their sporting events.
He was a life-long devout Catholic and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, serving two terms as Grand Knight. He volunteered with St Vincent de Paul Society and was manager of St. Clare’s food pantry in Caldwell for five years.
Tom was a do-it-yourself fixer upper. He built our 2-story log house in Minnesota and then went on to build several more for others and also earned his realtor’s license.
Tom was a loving husband, father, and as our granddaughter said, “the Best Grandpa a girl could have.”
A funeral mass will be celebrated on April 24, 2026 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Visitation and rosary recital at the church at 9:00 am with mass following at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, Idaho.
