It feels like the world is in a mess. The war between Iran and Israel now has the United States military involved, with men and women soldiers headed to the region to carry out military operations, including gathering information (intelligence).
Depending on who you listen to, the United States is accomplishing its objectives. Others will tell you our President shouldn’t be getting our military involved.
The U.S. has had concerns over Iran’s nuclear capabilities for many years. There have been hostile actions blamed on Iran for over 45 years, and we now have a President who is saying, enough is enough.
Iran has been attacking oil tankers trying to leave the region through the Strait of Hormuz, and we’re all paying the price at the pump. Gasoline in Florida is hovering just below $4.00 per gallon.
Higher gas prices have far-reaching effects on all of us. It costs more to get to work, it costs more to ship goods, and it costs more for anything relying on fuel.
In my opinion, there’s little doubt Iran couldn’t be trusted to honor agreements when it comes to nuclear weapons, and there’s no doubt that efforts have been made to work with Iran regarding its nuclear weapons. If we can believe what we’re being told year after year, Iran hasn’t abided by the agreements, and something had to be done.
Since Americans have been told over and over that the wars we’ve been involved in won’t last long, we can only hope this will be the first time that comes true, and our troops will be back home with limited loss of life. We can also hope the results of this war will be beneficial, if any war can be beneficial.
It feels like, since COVID and the rising cost of living, a break for the average American is less and less likely – I hope I’m wrong.
Have A Good Week!
