I’m not sure why the Epstein files are so important, but they sure got a lot of attention in our Nation’s Capital. Just last week the release of the files was voted on with only one “nay” vote. I imagine the files contain names of politicians and celebrities with whom Epstein associated, and since Epstein was in jail for the sex trafficking of young girls, I would also imagine many people don’t want the files released. Since the files are being released (if President Trump signs the bill into law) there will probably be a lot of very embarrassed people.

Epstein was a very wealthy man who used his influence in ways that put him in jail, where he died. Information I found on Wikipedia indicates Epstein kept a list of names of people he “entertained” over the years – that list is in a notebook dubbed Epstein’s “little black book.” It’s believed he kept the list for future financial gains. I don’t know if the files contain information that would confirm this, but then, I don’t know how much of the information in the Epstein files will be made available to the general public. Suffice it to say the man was very influential and used his influence in very sick ways.

Last week, here in Florida, we had a very early cold snap, with two nights’ temperatures dipping below freezing, and highs barely in the fifties during the day. I know the readers of this newspaper will laugh when people in Florida call those temperatures “cold”– I still get a kick out of people who have been here for any length of time and how they dress for the “cold” weather here. I get a lot of looks when I walk into the grocery store wearing shorts and short-sleeved shirts, while most are bundled up in winter jackets, scarves, and wool caps, and complain about how cold it is outside.

They don’t know what COLD is, do they?
