The Cold Spring Economic Development Authority visited Erkens Water on November 3rd. Owner, Don Erkens gave us a tour and shared the history of the business, as well as providing an enlightening description of the many services they offer.
The business started out as Erkens Water Softener Service by Don’s father Jerry. Later his uncle Cyril became co-owner with Jerry. Today, Don and his wife Becky own the business with their son Nick.
The business started by selling softener salt. The services they provide have grown substantially over the years. They still deliver salt, but they also sell and service water softeners and they provide options for safe drinking water and removal of chemicals from water.
