It’s sad to say, but if you are anywhere near a large crowd of people you should probably wonder if you are safe, even with police officers present.
What took place in New Orleans on a street crowded with New Year’s Eve partiers, when a man drove a rented pick-up truck down a street closed to cars, running over dozens and killing at least 15. The man rented the truck in Texas and drove to New Orleans. Authorities are calling it a terrorist attack.
Then, in Las Vegas, a truck loaded with explosives drove up next to the Trump International Hotel and exploded, killing one inside the truck and injuring several others. Authorities are calling this a terrorist act as well.
News broadcasters informed watchers that the FBI warned that ISIS has encouraged “lone wolves’ to carry out vehicle ramming incidents in the West (USA). Investigators are checking to see if these two incidents are related. What a sad way for the families of the lost and injured to remember the beginning of 2025.

Oh, how I remember those days! The days you folks in Central Minnesota will face for the next couple of weeks. Those days when the warmest you’ll see is under twenty, and the coldest will be below zero. I’d be less than honest if I told you I miss those days. I can think of only a few people who enjoy that cold – those who icefish because the cold will make the lake’s ice safer and anyone who sells the fuel needed to keep your home warm.
I promise I’ll be thinking about you as I head to the golf courses in our community.
Have A Good Week!
