The Cold Spring Area Chamber Ambassadors are thrilled to welcome ROCORI Action Packs as a new Chamber member. Chamber Ambassadors recently met with Carolyn Stang (Director) and Debbie Nelson (Founder) who are both deeply committed to addressing food insecurity in our community.
ROCORI Action Packs was founded ten years ago when Debbie Nelson felt a powerful calling to make a difference. After learning about a similar initiative elsewhere in Minnesota, Nelson was inspired to bring the idea to the ROCORI area. Guided by her faith and a commitment to helping children, Nelson, along with a few others began ROCORI Action Packs to ensure that school-aged children would have access to nutritious meals over the weekends.
Since then, ROCORI Action Packs has made a tremendous impact by providing essential meals for children who might otherwise go without. The program, which operates with the help of dedicated volunteers and generous donors, is helping meet a critical need right here in our community. Currently, about 100 packs go out per week. This year, ROCORI Action Packs not only celebrated its 10th anniversary but officially became a 501c3 organization.
ROCORI Action Packs is a community-supported initiative and welcomes both financial donations and volunteer groups. If a group is interested in packing meals contact Carolyn at ROCORIActionPacks@gmail.com or visit www.ROCORIActionPacks.com for more information.
The Cold Spring Area Chamber of Commerce is honored to welcome ROCORI Action Packs as they continue to make a positive difference in the lives of children and families. Thank you for your dedication and compassion to our local community!
