Daniel “Butch” Dockendorf, 63 of Watkins, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins with interment in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.  Fr. Bob Rolfes will officiate.  Music will be by Kathy Pauls. Urn Bearer will be Brian Neu.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23rd and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24th at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.

Daniel “Butch” Dockendorf was born on December 6, 1953 at St. Cloud, Minnesota.  He was the son of Corbinian and Eleanor (Theisen) Dockendorf.  Butch grew up in Watkins and graduated from Eden Valley-Watkins High School in 1972.  On June 28, 1975, Butch was united in marriage to Eileen Peters in Cold Spring.  They resided in Watkins and were members of St. Anthony Catholic Church.  Butch was employed at Cold Spring Granite as a Hand Polisher for 37 years.  He was a member of the Watkins Lions Club, Watkins Sportsmen’s Club and he was a volunteer at the Hilltop Care Center.  Butch also served as an usher at church and worked on a Bouja team.  Butch enjoyed fishing, bird watching and playing cards.  He was a social butterfly and enjoyed visiting with people.  He was especially fond of babysitting and spending time with his great grandson, Devontae.

Butch is survived by his wife, Eileen Dockendorf of Watkins; children, Tanya (Brian) Neu of Clearwater, Brian Dockendorf of Watkins and Adam Dockendorf of Watkins; granddaughter, Alyssa Miller of Watkins and great grandson, Devontae Newell-Miller of Watkins; Brothers and sisters, Charles Dockendorf of Watkins, Lloyd (Beverly) Dockendorf of Green Valley, AZ, Carol (Donald) DuBois of Wasilla, AK, Alan Dockendorf of Watkins, Wayne (Wanda) Dockendorf of Watkins, and Janel Dockendorf of Wasilla, AK. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sister, Gary Dockendorf, Peter Dockendorf and Janet Dockendorf.
